High raise dining will be taken to new levels…literally; as ‘London in the Sky’ returns in July next year (19th – 30th July 2017), with what is promised to be their “best ever chef line-up” offering guests an unforgettable Michelin-starred dining experience, over the London sky-line. The full restaurant line-up, including their menus, will be announced in the last week of January 2017. A specially designed “sky table” platform will sit 22 belted in diners, with a guest chef, sommelier and waiting team serving from the centre of the table. Upon arrival guests will be served a glass of champagne (to possibly help calm the nerves) and taken through the registration process, before being suspended 100 feet in the air. Top chefs from some of London’s finest restaurants, such as Michael Reid (M Restaurants), Jeremy Page (L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon) and Calum Franklin (Holborn Dining Room) to name a few, will transfer their menus and dining experiences to this unique event. Guests have the option of breakfast, lunch or dinner (with either an early sitting or sunset sitting) and drink flights are also available in the afternoon and evening. A Carribean street party will descend on King’s Cross Granary Square, on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th July 2016, as street food purveyors KERB, collaborate with Reggae Roast Soundsystem, to bring you reggae sounds, Caribbean street food, rum cocktails and more…for the ultimate summer celebration. KERB’s Reggae Roast will bring together some of London’s top street food traders who will be there serving everything from jerk chicken, Bajan fish fritters, ackee patties; to pickled scotch bonnets, curry goat, Escovitch snapper, jerk pineapple and more. The most futuristic gourmet experience is coming to London in the form of Food Ink, the “World’s First 3D Printing Restaurant” set to open its doors in Shoreditch, from Monday 25th July – Wednesday 27 July. Billed as “A conceptual pop-up dinner series…where fine cuisine meets art, philosophy and tomorrow’s technologies,” everything from the food, eating utensils and furniture will be produced through 3D-printing. Guests will be treated to a nine-course menu (with wine pairings) prepared by top chefs Joel Castanye and Mateu Blanch, which will be printed live in front of the diners; with virtual reality headsets, wall-to-wall visual projections and AI-composed music providing an immersive environment and a thrilling glimpse of the future. This exclusive one-of-a-kind gourmet experience, which starts at 7.30pm will set you back £250. Buckets and spades at the ready, as it’ll soon be time to head off to the glorious sandy beaches of…. Camden Town. NW1’s summer oasis, Camden Beach, returns to the outdoor terrace of the Roundhouse, from Friday 29th July – Monday 29th August. Once again they will be transforming their sun-drenched terrace into the ultimate summer destination, bringing the best of Barbados to Camden via a beach BBQ and themed events. There will be the usual end-of-the-pier amusements, beach huts, deck chairs, rooftop garden, ping pong, a pop-up fish and chip shop, a beach-shack cocktail bar and loads more. Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen (ZGK) are GHANA WRAP UP the year with a bonanza of a Christmas Feast and Party bringing their very own particular Ghana Style & Flavour, as The Ghana Vista Social Club returns on Thursday 17th December at Pop Brixton. Basement Galley – the guys who made eating on the underground cool with their regular Supper Club’s, are back on the 18th and 19th December, to bring you a cracker of a four course Christmas themed dinner in a disused tube carriage; complete with paired whiskies, just in time for the festive season. Guests will be served a brussels sprout slaw, miso and black olive tapenade, spicy mozzarella arancini starter; dry cured cod, caramelised grapefruit, roasted hazelnuts, camomile syrup, dill OR stuffed poussin, creamy potato puree, chorizo cabbage, wilted spinach main course; ending with a Christmas pudding ice cream, treacle & pickled apple tart and each course will be paired with a specially chosen whisky to complement it.
